This true vintage bridal gown from the early to mid-1970s is a masterclass in soft drama and understated romance – the kind of piece that needs no introduction (though the cape does help). She’s all about movement, grace and those delicious details that 70s bridal fashion did so well.

The high neckline is edged with lace, leading into a sheer illusion yoke with a softly scooped shape – accented with intricate floral appliqué  across the bodice and echoes again at the waist. Underneath, vertical ruching adds quiet structure and a flattering line.

Long illusion sleeves – sheer and weightless – end in wrists wrapped with yet more floral appliqué, bringing it all together with gentle harmony. The A-line skirt flows from the waist in lightweight fabric. 

But what makes Poetry in Motion unforgettable is her cape: attached at the shoulders, sweeping all the way to the floor in a ripple of softness, edged entirely in floral appliqué. It moves like water, frames the gown and gives the effect of a veil without the usual fuss.
