If 1980s Lady Di had done a photoshoot for Just Seventeen dressed as a posh Georgian milkmaid, it might have looked something like this.
This hyper-80s original vintage wedding dress is a satin showstopper – unapologetically romantic, and about as far from minimalism as you can get. The scalloped neckline and hem are pure vintage confection, and the embroidered satin bodice is heavily detailed in all the right ways. There’s something gloriously extra about it – but it’s still undeniably bridal.
The sleeves are classic 80s puffs, and can be styled on or off the shoulder, depending on your level of drama. The full-length satin skirt flows beautifully and has that swishy princess feel. I’ve styled it here with and without a pink ribbon at the waist – the dress works either way, but I love that little nod to Marie Antoinette-meets-Monarch's-wedding-day.
This is a true vintage wedding gown, in excellent condition, and brilliantly white and a real statement piece for a bride who’s not afraid of fashion history. Perfect for a 1980s-themed wedding, a retro bride with a sense of humour, or anyone who believes more is more.
