This one’s a peach – or should I say pink polka dot? Dainty Dotty is a true vintage original by Pronuptia from the early 1970s, made in a beautifully crisp white grosgrain fabric sprinkled with the faint pink flocked polka dots. If you’re after something modest, sweet, and a little bit unexpected, she’s your gal.
There’s a classic rounded neckline, short puffed sleeves, and a shaped seam under the bust that creates a lovely, flattering silhouette. The central grosgrain panel gives structure and shape, and the overskirt – in proper '70s fashion – sweeps up at the front to meet the empire line and then flows back into a soft train. Every edge of that overskirt is finished with a gentle scallop. It's a fabric which holds its shape.
Right at the centre sits a cluster of original ribbon and rose detailing – palest green and white – which could be kept as - is or swapped out for fresh ribbon if you fancy personalising her.
She's been let out from her original size - so now a more realistic size 10/12 – bust 36", waist 29", up to hips 40", length from waist to hem 43" – but rare chance to wear something truly vintage to fit today's sizing.
Dotty is a very sweet, super pretty dress packed with vintage 70s charm and details.
