Audrey Hepburn would have sighed. A gown that can’t decide if it’s 1962 or 1992—and is all the better for it.
Ivory satin damask blooming with giant roses • Bateau neckline that skims the collarbone • Long fitted sleeves closing with the tiniest snap fasteners • Sleeves finish in elegant points over the hands • V-shaped back that’s demure but not dull • Floor-length skirt with inverted box pleat s— gives structure without fuss • Hemline curves up ever so gently at the centre front • Cleaned within an inch of its life and believe me it needed it — now in immaculate condition, but still very much a vintage piece with a story
Shown here with a one hoop petticoat - not included
Beverley says:
“It’s a puzzle box of eras. Early 60s silhouette, late 80s zip. She’s channelling Jackie O at a Dynasty-era wedding—because why choose one decade when you can borrow from both? The fabric is pure old-school glamour: roses big enough to make Gertrude Jekyll blush.”
Measurements:
Bust: 32"
Waist:25"
Hips:40"
Waist to hem (front):38"
There is seam allowance which would allow for the side seams to be let out by a max of 2cm on each side (4cm in total) and the front darts could be let out by a max of 1cm on each dart (2cm in total)
About True Vintage: This is a true vintage gown. It's been lovingly cleaned and restored where needed, but vintage pieces can show small signs of age or history. I prefer to think of them as smile lines, not flaws.
